Triumph Daytona 660 Vs. Kawasaki Ninja 650 – Price & Specs Comparison

Triumph recently launched the new Daytona 660 in the Indian market. The new Daytona 660 comes with Triumph’s Triple engine and also gets sporty yet comfortable ergonomics. One other motorcycle with such dynamics is the Kawasaki’s popular Ninja 650 which is being sold in the country for more than a decade now. So, side by side how do these two compare, let’s find out in this price and specifications comparison.

Price

The Triumph Daytona 660 comes with a price tag of INR 9.72 lakh ex-showroom. On the other hand, the Kawasaki Ninja 650 comes with a price tag of INR 7.16 lakh ex-showroom. Both motorcycle come with a similar displacement. However, the Triumph gets a three-cylinder engine while the Kawasaki offers its bike with a parallel-twin engine.

Engine

Powering the Triumph Daytona 660 is a 660cc 3-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that produces 95 PS of power and 69 Nm of torque. Triumph claims that the engine has the capability to rev upto a 12,650 rpms but 80% of torque is achieved at just 3,125 rpm. Powering the Ninja 650 is a 649cc parallel-twin cylinder motor that produces 68 PS of power and 64 Nm of torque. While the max power is achieved at 8,000 rpm the peak torque is achieved at 6,700 rpm. Both the engine come with a 6-speed gearbox.

Chassis & Suspension

The Triumph Daytona 660 comes with a tubular steel perimeter frame and rides on 41mm Showa Big Piston upside down front fork. The motorcycle also comes with a preload adjustable Showa mono shock on the rear. The Kawasaki Ninja 650 comes with a high-tensile steel trellis chassis that rides on 41mm telescopic front fork and a horizontal back link suspension on the rear with an adjustable preload.

Brakes & Weight

The Daytona 660 comes with twin 310mm discs on the front with 4-piston radial calipers and a 220mm rear disc with a single piston sliding caliper. The Kawasaki Ninja 650 comes with twin 300mm disc on the front and twin piston calipers on the front and a single 220mm rear disc with a single piston caliper. While the Daytona 660 weighs 201 kgs at the kerb, the Ninja 650 weighs 196 kgs at the herb.
