Tresa Motors reveals Electric Truck for the Global Market

Tresa Motors has unveiled its new electric truck. The Model V0.1 is built on its FLUX350 platform. The truck has been designed for global markets. The company is currently working on trucks in the 15-55 ton GVW segment.

The truck will be showcased in Q2 FY2023.

Need for electrification in the Indian truck segment

In India, there are over 2.8 million trucks. These are known to contribute towards 60 percent of the emission. Hence, the need for zero emission vehicles, especially in the medium and heavy trucks. The Government of India is already working towards a scrappage policy by 2024 and fuel prices are at an all time high. Thus, it would be cost effective for all involved to switch to electric vehicles.

Tresa Motors aims to be a part of this transformation by offering eco-friendly alternatives and a low cost of ownership to truck / fleet owners.

Tresa Motors Model V0.1 is based on the Axial Flux Motor technology called as FLUX350. This delivers upto 350 kW of continuous power. The company claims to be the only Indian OEM which offers this output.

Compared to traditional motors, the Axial Flux motors are known for their compact size and light weight. The motor has been completely developed in India and this makes Tresa Motors one of the few manufacturers developing this kind of motor.

The truck first was done up using simulations in ANSYS and MATLAB that lasted months. Post this, the parameters were fine-tuned before commencing the manufacturing process.

Tresa Motors was founded by Rohan Shravan and Ravi Machani in 2022. The company claims to be the first Indian OEM to make medium and heavy electric trucks. Tresa Motors is known for its strong foundations in industrial design, electric powertrain and battery related technologies. The first trucks from the company will belong to the 18-55T GVW segment.
