Written by Parichay Malvankar

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced a special scheme under ‘Drive the Nation’ campaign for government and defense personal who wish to buy the Yaris sedan. This scheme is already in place for the Innova Crysta, Etios & Corolla Altis. The Yaris will now be available are special sales rates for the centre & state government employees along with being made available at Canteen Stores Department for defense personal.

Toyota reveals that such Drive The Nation campaigns have contributed 13% of sales last year. So this surely works in favour as a win win for both the company and buyers (government and defense personal). The Yaris was launched in May 2018, and it rivals the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. With best-in-class 7-airbags, Toyota is betting big on safety with the new Yaris and it also gets a few more segment first features.

Under this scheme, government employees can buy the Yaris with 100% on-road funding with a tenure of 8 years. Retired government employees can get the car with 0 down payment and low EMIs.

The Yaris comes to India with a petrol engine option only. It makes use of a 1.5L block which produces 107 HP of power and 140 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox or an option of a 7-step CVT gearbox.
