Toyota sold 8,801 cars in June 2021

Toyota Kirloskar Motor announced its monthly sales report. The company registered a total sales of 8,801 units for June 2021. This results in year-over-year growth of 128 per cent compared to the sales in June 2020, which stood at 3,866 units. In the cumulative six months (January to June), Toyota sold a total of 59,332 units as compared to 28,686 for the same period last year.

This translates to a year-to-date growth of 107 per cent. Toyota mentioned that it had resumed production at its plant on June 15th to meet the growing demand. Currently, the manufacturing facility is operational with 50 per cent of the workforce and with complete adherence to all Covid-19 related guidelines.

Demand Getting Back To Pre Covid Level

With the cases going down and the restrictions getting less stringent, customers are more open to visiting showrooms. More so, automotive companies have also launched a slew of digital services which aid the customers to improve the car buying experience from the comfort of their home. Toyota has been very vocal, urging both its employees and customers to take up vaccination as soon as possible. The company has vaccinated over 96 per cent of the employees with the first dose to date. And soon, the entire workforce will be vaccinated, including the ones following work-from-home.

To enable its customers with all the necessary services amidst this pandemic, Toyota has started doorstep delivery of its Genuine Spare Parts. The lockdown situation is still very evident in a few states, and this doorstep delivery of spare parts will significantly help those customers. Under this initiative, customers can avail themselves of a range of services, including car care essentials, tyres, batteries, engine oil, and more. Currently, Toyota is offering this service in 12 cities, and there are plans to extend it to more cities by the end of 2021.
