Toyota has revealed the Supra Final Edition, a high-performance special model with 435 horsepower. This marks the last iteration of the A90 Supra before it goes out of production.
History of the Supra
The Toyota Supra made its debut in 1978 as part of the Celica lineup. Over the years, it evolved into a standalone model renowned for its performance and sporty design. The fourth-generation Supra, produced from 1993 to 2002, became a legend in the automotive world, especially after being featured in the “Fast and Furious” movie franchise. The Supra returned in 2019 with the A90 model, developed in collaboration with BMW, blending modern technology with its iconic heritage.
Key Features and Enhancements
The Supra Final Edition boasts a heavily revamped chassis, aggressive styling cues, and a race-inspired cockpit. It features a chunky carbon-fiber rear spoiler, wind-cheating canards, and a sizeable cooling vent on the bonnet. Inside, it has carbon-fiber Recaro bucket seats trimmed in Alcantara and red seatbelts.
Engine and Performance
The Final Edition is based on the range-topping 3.0-liter model but with a power boost to 435 horsepower. Toyota achieved this by revising the airflow system, adding a new low-back-pressure exhaust catalyst, and tweaking the ECU mapping. The car also gets a new baffle plate in the oil pan, added cooling measures, and an Akrapovic backbox for a powerful engine sound.
Limited Production
Toyota will produce only 300 units of the Supra Final Edition globally. The car is expected to have a 0-100 km/h time of under 4 seconds, making it faster than the standard Supra. We do not think that we will get it in India.
Future of the Supra
While the road-going Supra will cease production, Toyota plans to continue developing the Supra through motorsports activities. The company aims to maintain the Supra’s legacy and passion among its fans.
