Toyota & Lexus reveal 16 new Electric cars

Toyota and Lexus, one of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the world, have announced their electrification road map for the global market. This includes a total of 30 electric vehicles that in both passenger and commercial segments. The brand plans to add the EV lineup by 2030. In a media interaction, Akio Toyoda also revealed the brand’s planned electric vehicle output and the accompanying investment for the same. Akio Toyoda also unveiled an entire range of electric concept cars, SUVs and commercial vehicles. This includes 16 diverse electric vehicle concepts. The EV concepts include battery electric sports coupes, SUVs, utility vehicles and 4×4 vehicles. 

Toyota bZ Series

The most known out of the vast electric vehicle range is the Toyota bZ series. The BZ series includes the bZ4X, which Toyota unveiled in the recent past. The medium size SUV is likely to go into mass-production in 2022. Also, the brand is likely to introduce the entire bZ series by the year 2025. The bZ series will include bZ small SUV, bZ medium SUV, bZ large SUV and bZ sedan.

The bZ small SUV will have a 12.5kWh/100km energy use target and will be the size of the Toyota Aygo. The microcar will target customers in the Japanese and European markets. The bZ medium will be a coupe SUV with a sloping roofline with a design language similar to the Mustang Mach-E. The bZ large is a seven-seat family MPV that will target customers in the US market. Finally, the bZ sedan will target Chinese customers with a mid-sized sedan. 

Toyota Lifestyle Models

Toyota will also offer lifestyle models such as a future Kei car (Micro Box), a rugged 4×4 (Compact Cruiser SUV) and an EV Crossover. The lifestyle vehicle lineup also includes a pickup truck, a GR Sports EV and a Small SU SUV. The Lexus lineup will also include Lexus RZ, Lexus Large SUV and a Lexus GT sedan. The Lexus EVs will come with solid-state batteries with a range of around 700 km and a 2-second sprint to 100 kmph. However, the Lexus lineup will make its debut by 2035.
