Toyota launches Fortuner TRD ‘Celebratory Edition’ for INR 33.85 lakh

The Fortuner is without any doubt the leader in the SUV segment under INR 40 lakh. Celebrating this fact, that since a decade there has been no looking back in terms of customer demand for the Fortuner SUV, Toyota has launched a TRD ‘Celebratory Edition’ in India priced at INR 33,85,000 (Ex showroom Delhi). The Fortuner is a 7-seater SUV and rivals the likes of Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4 in our market. With this launch ahead of the festive season, Toyota might be looking for some incremental sales.

With dual tone paint options and additional exterior and interior features, the 2019 Toyota Fortuner TRD ‘Celebratory Edition’ will be sold only in limited numbers. This variant has been jointly developed with the Toyota Racing Development (TRD). Bookings have opened today for this new variant.

The TRD ‘Celebratory Edition’ comes with reworked front and rear bumpers, TRD finished radiator grille, bumper skirts, 18″ dark alloy wheels, TRD ‘Celebratory Edition’ badge, dual tone roof finish, red accents on upholstery stitching, 10 years leadership badge, red accents on the centre console and door trims along with new door scuff plates.

This TRD ‘Celebratory Edition’ comes powered by the 2.8L, turbocharged, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 177 PS of power @ 3400 RPM and 450 Nm of torque @ 1600-2400 RPM matched to a 6-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shift function. With a typical body on frame construction, the Fortuner also gets pitch & bounce control system for a stable ride.

Safety features on the Fortuner SUV includes stability control, brake assist, ABS, EBD, 7-airbags, ISOFIX, hill hold, speed sensing auto door lock and emergency brake signal. Driver assistance includes Eco & Power modes, cruise control, TFT MID with navigation display, tilt & telescopic steering, electric adjustment for seat, park assist with rear sensors and back monitor.
