The first-ever Toyota car has been tested by the BNCAP agency for the safety rating. The Innova Hycross has scored a 5-star crash test rating, making it one of the safest MPVs in India. Read all the details below.

Toyota Innova Hycross BNCAP crash test details
Scoring 30.47 points out of 32 for the adult safety protection, the Innova Hycriss has become the first-ever Toyota, the first-ever hybrid, and the first-ever MPV car to be tested by the BNCAP.
Speaking of the details, the MPV scored 14.47 points out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, and was reported to provide good support to the front passengers.
In the side movable deformable barrier test, the MPV scored 16/16 points, while the chassis was rated ‘Ok’ in the side pole impact test.
However, it is the child occupancy score (COP), where the Innova Hycross has outshone every other car ever tested by the BNCAP. The MPV scored 45/49 points in the COP.
Meanwhile, it received 242/24 points in the dynamic test, 12/12 in the CRS installation, and 9/13 in the vehicle assessment test.
As the Innova Hycross is available in pure petrol as well as a hybrid version, BNCAP has tested both iterations and further clarified that both models are equally safe in terms of the crash test results.
Speaking of the safety features, the Innova Hycross is equipped with six airbags, 3-point seatbelts, ISOFIX seats, and a side-passenger airbag cut-off switch as standard.
