Toyota Glanza will deliver 23.87 kmpl mileage, details leak

Toyota Glanza which is essentially a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been spotted multiple times and the pictures have been on the internet. Now according to a media report, the details of the Toyota Glanza have been leaked before its launch which is scheduled on 6th June 2019. The leaked details include variants, features, engine options, fuel- efficiency, and expected price.

The Toyota Glanza will be available in two trim options to keep it simple, namely G and V. The G is likely to be based on the Baleno Zeta and the V is likely to be based on the top-spec Baleno Alpha. The variant options are further divided into 4 options:-

  • G
  • G CVT
  • V
  • V CVT

The features on the Toyota Glanza include dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto integration and voice command features, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control air-conditioning, steering mounted controls, push-button start/stop etc. The high-end variant ‘V’ variant is expected to include LED daytime running lights, LED treatment on the tail lights, leather-wrapped steering wheel, auto headlamps with follow me function, a reverse camera and UV-cut glass. In terms of safety, the car is expected to get dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, seat belt reminder, etc.

The engine options on the Toyota Glanza is as follows:-

  • 1.2-litre K12B petrol engine that produces 83 HP of power and 113 Nm of torque
  • 1.2-litre K12c DualJet petrol engine with a mild-hybrid system producing 90 HP of power and 113 Nm of torque

Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic as an option. The mild hybrid system will only be available on the G variant with the K12C engine.

The Toyota Glanza G variant is expected to have a greater fuel efficiency as it is likely to come equipped with the mild hybrid system and the estimate figures are 23.87 kmpl on the manual transmission and  19.56 kmpl on the CVT automatic. The top-spec V is expected to deliver 21.01 kmpl on the manual variant.

The price is expected to be around INR 8 lakh ex-showroom on the G manual transmission variant and around the INR 9 lakh for the V CVT automatic. Which is slightly expensive than the Baleno. But the Toyota version is expected to come with a longer warranty with extended warranty options.
