Toyota Glanza price hike details
As per the official price hike, the Glanza hatchback will now cost more, up to Rs 9,00,0 than before. The car is available in four variants: E, S, G, and V. All the variants have undergone the latest price hike.
While the S and G variants with the AMT gearbox option are now expensive by Rs 9,000, the rest of the variants with the manual and AMT transmission are costlier by Rs 4,000. Moreover, the CNG variants are also expensive by Rs 4,000 now.
With the new prices implemented, the Glanza range now starts from Rs 6.9 lakh for the base variant and goes up to Rs 10 lakh for the top-end trim. The prices mentioned are ex-showroom, India.
The Glanza is essentially a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno that features a redesigned fascia and minor cosmetic differences. The powertrain and the mechanical structure are shared with the Baleno as is.
It comes powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that generates 89 bhp of peak power output and 113 Nm of peak torque. Toyota offers two transmission options mated to this engine – a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic.
The Glanza hatchback is known for its spacious cabin and high fuel efficiency. The claimed fuel economy of the 1.2-litre engine with the AMT gearbox is 22.3 km/l, which makes it one of the most fuel-efficient cars in India currently.
The primary competitors of Glanza include the sibling Baleno, the Hyundai i20, and the Tata Altroz.
