This is the Honda Civic version coming to Indian showrooms

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Honda’s Civic is making a comeback in India after a long break. While Honda did reveal the Civic at the Auto Expo earlier this year, the version which will actually be launched was recently revealed as a facelift. The new image gives us a better idea of what to expect when Honda does launch the Civic in our market in early 2019.

The 2019 Honda Civic for India will get ample chrome treatment, new front grille, sporty bumpers, LED tail lamps, new fog lamp housing, 18″ rims, sun roof, LED headlamps, rear spoiler, and much more. Inside, we expect a large touchscreen infotainment system, leather upholstery, high end stereo system, and a host of features as per segment standards.

Powering the Civic could be a 1.8L, 140 HP petrol motor and a 1.6L diesel engine good for 120 HP of power. Both engines are expected to be introduced with manual and automatic gearbox options with class leading fuel efficiency numbers.

The new Honda Civic will rival the likes of Skoda Octavia & Hyundai Elantra. Unlike in countries abroad, the Civic coming to India will be a standard sedan. No coupe or Type-R variants are expected to hit the Indian streets.

Pricing could start from INR 16-22 lakh.
