Hero MotorCorp could soon have its answer to take on the TVS Apache. A recent new design patent showcases a glimpse of what Hero’s is up to with its next motorcycle. Our first assumption is that this is a new 200cc model. The first impression of the design gives it a beefier Xtreme 160R. In fact, this new motorcycle from Hero could fill the void left by the now-discontinued Xtreme 200R.
Information We Have So Far
The engine specifications and the overall design of the motorcycle has a strong resemblance with the Xpulse 200 models. In fact, the design of the exhaust system too is very similar to the recently updated Xpulse 200T. If that 4-valve engine makes up this model, we are looking at somewhere between 19 HP and 17 Nm. Equipped gearbox most likely is a 5-speed gearbox unit. These numbers pretty much match and are almost the same level as the segment leader, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
Design Highlights On The Upcoming New Hero MotoCorp Motorcycle
Looking from the front at the headlight unit and the shroud around it. Again we see a very similar design to that seen on the Xtreme 160R. The shape of the side panels, fuel tank, and seat also share the same design. In fact, the flat, wide handlebar and slightly rear-set footpegs also look very similar. The key difference is this motorcycle equips a wider, more compressed belly pan, with wider, sharper panels flanking the rear seat.
What Could Hero MotorCorp Name This New Motorcycle?
Given these similarities, it was easy to assume that this new motorcycle would carry the Xtreme 200R nametag. But, as per reports, Hero could bring back the memories to connect with the customers. Hence in an attempt to boost the motorcycle’s appeal, giving it an iconic name tag makes a lot of sense. Thus, perhaps something like Hero Hunk 200 could make the motorcycle more exciting.
