Written by Paarth Powale

The web browsing firm ‘Opera’ celebrated its 20th Anniversary by providing 20 Indian cities something special.

They rolled out their Web on Wheels a.k.a ‘WOW’ car in India.

The WOW car is a Hindustan Ambassador, specially equipped to provide free WiFi to 20 cities across the country which are the also home to the largest number of Opera Mini users in the world.

Painted fully retro red with graffiti, the WOW car is hard to miss anyone’s sight. The car will travel across India, covering 20 cities including Agra, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi and Allahabad over the next 10 months. The car will be stationed at multiple locations for 20 days throughout the city and then will move on to the next city. Each user that will connect to the WOW car will be able to use free internet for 20 minutes.

There is no limit to how much one can use the data in that time. There’s no restriction to particular websites or apps for those 20 minutes. People at Opera have launched this promotional activity with the sole purpose to promote mobile internet users. So the next time you see a red Ambassador, make sure you’re quick to start your Wi-Fi.
