Tata Motors has started accepting pre-launch bookings for their new Zest compact sedan. The bookings can be made online by paying a sum of Rs. 21,000 through your debit / credit cards or via other modes of an online payment. Right now, customers can only select if they want to buy a diesel or a petrol powered engine for the Zest.
The booking amount is deposited directly to the dealership, which is selected by the customer in the previous steps. The customer needs to mention their state and city, and accordingly select a dealer. Post the launch, customers need to finalize this deal with that respective dealer for variant and colour selection, also, get the documentation and final payment procedures completed.
The Zest will be launched next month. The car will be powered by a new 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine and the 1.3L Fiat-sourced diesel engine. Both the engines will be powered by 5-speed manual gearboxes. What might be a segment first though is that the diesel powered Tata Zest will get an automated manual transmission (AMT).
Will the Zest help to generate stronger sales figures? We should have the answer in a couple of months.
