Written by Parichay Malvankar

The Tata Tigor has been having a successful run in the market since launch. But now, there is a small hiccup that has showed up. Tata Motors has revealed that the Tigor diesel cars have a problem with the emissions, and that these compact-sedans are subject to  a recall. However, the brand does stress on the fact that there is no safety hazard related to this recall.

Tata Tigor, powered by diesel engines built betweel March 6th – December 1st, 2017 are subject to this recall. Chassis number between MAT629401GKP52721 and MAT629401HKN89616 are to be inspected, and Tata Motors will have their dealers contact customers so that they can rectify the issue. Owners can also contact Tata Motors directly and ask for an inspection if they own the car built in this period.

This is a voluntary recall, and all the work will be performed free of cost. However, this might cause some inconvenience to the customers, that is for sure.

The Tigor diesel is powered by a 1.05L motor producing 70 HP of power and comes matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox only.
