Tata Tiago EV hatchback crosses 50,000 sales milestone

Written by News Team

Tata Motors has announced a significant milestone for its entry-level electric vehicle, the Tiago EV, which has crossed the 50,000 sales mark since its launch in September 2022. This achievement highlights the growing popularity of electric vehicles (EVs) in India and Tata Motors’ strong foothold in the EV market.

How Long did it take?

The Tata Tiago EV received bookings of 10,000 in just 24 hours, making it the fastest-booked EV in India. The Tiago EV was launched in September 2022, and its sales commenced in February 2023. Just after 4 months of its sales commencement, it marked the sales of 10,000 units, and 40,000 more units were added in just the span of another 17 months. This has not only added value to the brand image of Tata Tiago but also has set a significant benchmark in the electric vehicle segment.

Festive Season Offers

To celebrate this milestone, Tata Motors is offering a range of discounts on the Tiago EV for the festive season. These include up to 100% on-road financing with EMIs starting from INR 6,499, and savings of up to INR 75,000 on fuel costs with six months of free charging at over 5,600 Tata Power charging stations.

Powertrain

The Tata Tiago has two battery options. One includes a battery pack with 19.2 kWh, offering a range of 250 km. The other is a long range option with a 24 kWh battery having a range of 315 km. Its front wheel has an 55 kWh electric motor that makes 74 bhp and 114 Nm of torque.

The Tiago EV starts at INR 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). Having competitors like MG Comet and Citroen e-C3 of the similar segment in India hasn’t shown any significant effect on Tata Tiago’s sales and reputation, making it currently the best in its segment.
