Tata Safari & Harrier now get ADAS features

Tata introduced the new ‘Red Dark’ edition Harrier and Safari at the Auto Expo 2023. The new Tata Harrier Red Dark and the Tata Safari Red Dark edition come with changes to the exteriors as well as its interiors. Changes include a new exterior Oberon Black paint along with Zircon Red accents on the brake callipers. The SUVs also come with Daytona Grey skid plates. The brand also offers a new Carnelian Red interior theme with a Steel Black dashboard and Piano Black accents.

However, the changes are not just cosmetic, the brand is also offering best-in-class safety features on both the Harrier and Safari Red Dark editions. These new additions include a new instruments panel with a 7-inch New Generation Digital TFT display and a 360-degree Surround View System. The SUV also come with 6 airbags and an Enhanced Electronic Safety Programme with 17 Functionalities. One more major addition to safety is the introduction of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System).

Tata Safari and Harrier Red Dark – ADAS Safety Features

The Tata Safari and Harrier Red Dark also come with 10 high-end ADAS features. These features improve the safety of passengers as well as other road users. The Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) includes Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW) features. Thanks to this, the car will be able to apply brakes automatically when an obstacle is detected on the road. The system will also warn the driver using audible and visual cues.

In addition to this, the ADAS comes with Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Rear Collision Warning (RCW) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). The ADAS package also comes with Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Change Alert (LCA). The Harrier and Safari also get High Beam Assist, Door Open Alert and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR).

Tata Safari and Harrier – Technical Specifications

Apart from the cosmetic and safety feature upgrades, the brand continues with the tried and tested OMEGA platform and FCA-derived Kryotec engine. Powering the Harrier and Safari is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. The engine makes 170 PS and 350 Nm paired to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.
