Tata Punch rides on Apollo Alnac 4G tyres

One of the country’s leading tyre manufacturers, Apollo Tyres, announced that it would be Tata Motors’ exclusive supplier. As an OE fitment for Tata Motor’s recently unveiled micro-SUV, Punch, Apollo has chosen its Alnac 4G tyres. Apollo will provide 195/60/R16 sized tyres for the top-spec Punch and 185/75/R15 tyres for mid and lower spec variants. Apollo has utilized its Alnac 4G tyres as OE fitments for several new passenger vehicle OEMs after their launch.

Tested For OEM Requirements

The brand has ensured that it will customize the tyres to meet OEM requirements for improved precision during sudden steering corrections. The unique mix of tyre compounds offers maximum traction and shorter braking distances on wet or dry surfaces. Alnac 4G tyres include a modern and sporty tread pattern that delivers maximum driving safety in any condition. Apollo has extensively tested the tyres at global test tracks like IDIADA, Spain, and ATP Papenburg, Germany, with excellent results. Apollo expects to gain maximum traction from Indian customers thanks to Tata Punch’s robust build quality and aggressive pricing.

Tata Punch: Detailed Highlights 

Tata Motors recently launched its new micro-SUV, the Punch in India, at a price tag of INR 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom). With a booking amount of INR 21,000, Tata Motors opened the orders for its Punch at all its dealerships. The Tata Punch is the brand’s second SUV to score a 5-star Global NCAP crash safety rating. Tata offers the Punch in 4 distinct variants – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative with Rhythm and Dazzle customization packs.

Powertrain 

Powering the micro-SUV is a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated, three-cylinder, Revotron petrol engine with no diesel or turbo-petrol option. The engine paired to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox produces 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. Tata offers the engine with its latest Dyna-Pro technology that includes a ram-intake system that improves efficiency and performance.

Dimensions

The Punch SUV features two engine drive modes- City and Eco coupled with an automatic engine start/stop system. The system aids in enhancing efficiency and minimizing pollution. Measuring 3827mm in length, 1742mm in width, and 1615mm in height, the Punch sports a wheelbase of 2445mm. The Punch offers a ground clearance of 190mm, a water wading capability of 370mm, and a boot space of 366 litres.

Features

Tata offers the Punch with projector headlamps, LED taillamps, 90-degree opening doors, and rear parking sensors in terms of exterior features. The interior of the Punch features a 7-inch Harman infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple Carplay connectivity. Other features include the iRA Connected Car Technology, 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and a cooled glovebox.
