Tata Motors has unveiled the CNG version of the Punch. Uniquely, Tata has used two small CNG cylinders instead of one large one which has freed up considerable space in the boot.
With rising fuel prices, buyers are opting for CNG variants of popular cars. While CNG has always been restricted to certain cars and variants, these days, manufacturers are offering CNG as an alternative to diesel.
What’s new in the Tata Punch iCNG?
Compared to the standard car, the Punch iCNG looks identical. It is likely to be offered in multiple variants as the display car had a sunroof.
On the outside, the car looks the same save for the CNG sticker on the windshield and the car badging.
The Punch, which is based on the ALFA architecture, has successfully established its popularity in the micro SUV segment. Tata Motors talked about the four core pillars of a true SUV – Stunning Design, Versatile and Engaging Performance, Roomy and Spacious Interiors and Absolute Safety. And the Punch pretty much justifies all the above. Punch has also consistently been a part of the top 10 highest-selling cars in India. And with the introduction of this CNG variant, the car’s position on the top 10 list is bound to go up.
