Tata Motors is gearing up to introduce the first major facelift for its popular micro SUV, the Punch. Spy shots captured in Pune reveal a camouflaged test mule, hinting at design and feature upgrades inspired by the Punch EV.

Exterior updates: Inspired by Punch EV

The 2025 Tata Punch facelift will adopt Tata’s latest digital design language, first seen on the Nexon EV. Key exterior changes include:

  • Connected LED DRL strip positioned below the bonnet, doubling as sequential turn indicators.
  • Vertically stacked LED headlights and LED fog lamps with cornering function.
  • New 16-inch alloy wheels, enhancing the SUV’s stance.
  • Subtle updates to the LED taillights, maintaining the familiar rear profile.

Interior and feature enhancements

Inside, the Punch facelift will receive a modernized dashboard, aligning with Tata’s latest models. Expected upgrades include:

  • 10.25-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
  • Flat-bottom steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and toggle controls.
  • New climate control panel with multiple charging options, including 45W Type-C, USB, and a 12V socket.

Powertrain and performance

Mechanically, the Punch facelift will remain unchanged, continuing with:

  • 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine (86 bhp, 113 Nm) with 5-speed manual and AMT options.
  • i-CNG bi-fuel variant (73.4 bhp, 103 Nm), retaining the 5-speed manual gearbox.

Expected launch and market position

Tata Motors is expected to launch the Punch facelift during the festive season of 2025, positioning it against the Hyundai Exter and Citroen C3.
