Tata Motors is looking to expand its electric vehicle portfolio with the Punch EV. After the launch of the EV versions of the Nexon, Tigor and Tiago, Tata Motors is looking to replicate their success in the entry level segment.

Tata Punch EV : More Details

The Tata Punch now sports aerodynamic alloy wheels. These appear to feature fin-like elements that can improve the airflow.
Apart from this, the Punch is likely to retain features like projector headlamps, squared-off wheel arches, cladding all-around and more. The Punch also comes with 90-degree opening doors and roof rails.
In terms of brakes, we can expect an all-wheel disc brake setup.

Tata Punch EV : Updates on the inside

The new Tata Punch EV was spotted with a two-spoke steering wheel. This steering wheel was first spotted on the Curvv Concept SUV. The wheel comes with a Tata logo in the centre with illumination and is likely to have capacitive buttons.

Apart from this, the Punch is also likely to come with a rotary dial. Other features are likely to include 7-inch dual displays – one for infotainment and one for the driver, electronically folding ORVMs, button start. Tata might also introduce a few EV only features – maybe cosmetic on the outside or on the inside to distinguish it from the ICE counterpart.

Powertrain of the Tata Punch EV

While more details are awaited, Tata could offer similar options like the Tiago EV. This means two battery sizes for two different range options. The Punch EV could offer around 200 km and 300 km range options. In contrast the Tiago EV comes with 250 km and 315 km range variants.

The Tata Punch EV could go up against the likes of the Citroen eC3 and the MG Comet in the Indian market. As awareness for EVs increases, consumers are more likely to opt for the same especially for city usage or fixed point A to B commutes.
