Tata Power clinches yet another milestone in its conquest to set up charging infrastructure in India. And now, the company has over 1,000 electric vehicle charging stations across the country. With the growing demand for EVs in the market, there has been a significant demand for e-mobility infrastructure. In the future, the demand for electric vehicles will also rise from here. And thus, it is equally important to set up a viable and robust charging infrastructure. Tata Power is currently one of the largest and leading privately integrated companies in this business. And in a relatively short period of time, the company has managed to expand its network by an appreciable amount.
Tata Power’s Network Of Charging Infrastructure
The company’s first charging setup came in Mumbai. And now, the company has its presence in over 180 cities. These 1,000 public EV charging stations have come up at offices, malls, hotels, retail outlets and other public locations. Other than this, Tata Power has also set up more than 10,000 home EV charging solutions. This is a much more convenient option for the customers who have the infrastructure to set up private charging points.
Currently, Tata Power’s EZ Charger ecosystem consists of the entire value chain of Public chargers, Captive chargers, Bus/ Fleet chargers and Home chargers. In addition to this, the company also aims to have a base of 10,000 Charging Stations across the highways of the country. This will make long-distance travelling by EV a reality. Currently, EV owners are better off driving their vehicles mostly for intracity commutes, given the available infrastructure.

In an attempt to expand its reach at a faster pace, Tata Power has collaborated with a host of OEM car manufacturers. This includes Tata Motors Limited, MG Motors India Limited, Jaguar Land Rover, TVS and more. Tata Motors has also collaborated with IOCL, HPCL, IGL, MGL and multiple State Governments to develop EV Charging Infrastructure (EVCI).
