Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the Hexa crossover in the coming weeks, around Diwali 2016. Riding high on the successful debut of the Tiago hatchback, Tata Motors is now hopeful to revive their crossover product plan with the Hexa which is a heavily reworked Aria.
The Hexa is based on the same platform as the Aria, but gets an all-new design which is sportier than its predecessor. Thanks to a healthy dose of body cladding, the Hexa looks a lot more off-road friendly and crossover-like unlike the MPV styling of the Aria.
Powering the Hexa would be the same 2.2L, Varicor diesel engine producing 156.2 HP of power and 400 Nm of torque. Engine would be matched to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. Taking inspiration from Land Rover models, the Hexa will also get 4 terrain management modes and will come with features such as Dynamic Control, TCS, Engine Drag Control, 6-airbags, etc.
Styling & features will leave no stone unturned. While you will get a 5.0L touchscreen infotainment from Harman in the centre console, there will also be a 3.5L TFT display in the instrument cluster for driver information. The Hexa will also pack a 10-speaker stereo system from JBL. For exterior highlights, you would get 19″ alloy wheels, which would be a first from an Indian manufacturer.
The Hexa is expected to be priced just under the Toyota Innova Crysta.
