Tata Motors has announced an aggressive product expansion plan, confirming the launch of seven all-new models by FY2030. The company revealed its future roadmap during the Investor Day 2025 presentation, outlining a mix of electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to strengthen its market position.
Upcoming models: What to Expect?
Tata Motors’ new product offensive will include:
- Tata Sierra – Making a grand comeback, the Sierra will be available in both ICE and EV versions.
- Two Avinya EVs – These will be high-end electric vehicles, built on Jaguar Land Rover’s EMA modular architecture, shared with the next-gen Velar, Evoque, and Discovery Sport.
- Four additional models – Tata will introduce two new ICE-powered cars and two fresh EVs, expanding its footprint in multiple segments.
Facelifts and portfolio expansion
Beyond new models, Tata Motors will roll out over 23 facelifted and updated vehicles, ensuring continuous innovation. By the end of the decade, the company’s lineup will feature more than 15 nameplates, covering SUVs, hatchbacks, and premium EVs.
Market position and competitive strategy
Tata Motors is facing stiff competition from Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai, and MG Motor, particularly in the SUV and EV segments. The company’s market share in EVs has dropped from 80-85% to around 55%, prompting a renewed focus on premium electric mobility.
To counter this, Tata Motors is accelerating its EV strategy, with the Avinya brand set to debut in 2027. The company has also signed an MoU with Jaguar Land Rover, ensuring next-gen EV architecture development.
