Tata Motors sold 76,210 cars in May 2022, 186% growth

Tata Motors India has released its sale report for May 2022. The carmaker dispatched a total of 76,210 units for the given period. This figure includes sales figures for both domestic as well as international markets. Hence, it results in year-over-year growth of 186 per cent. The company has made an emphatic comeback in the automotive sector. For the recent few years, Tata Motors has also nailed it with its product launches. All while understanding the customer requirements.

Detailed Sales Breakup

For the domestic sales, Tata Motors posted a figure of 74,755 units of sale, up from 24,552 units for May 2021. In the domestic commercial vehicle segment, Tata sold a total of 31,414 units. The same for May 2021 stood at 9,371 units. In terms of exports, the commercial vehicles sales figure stood at 1,404 units. Meanwhile, the figure for May 2021 stood at 2,030 units.

Domestic sales of MH&HCV in May 2022 stood at 12,056 units, as against 3,241 units in May 2021. The figures also include trucks and buses. Total sales for MH&HCV Domestic and International Business in May 2022 stood at 12,810 units. These include both trucks and buses. This is up from 4,276 units in May 2021.

For the domestic passenger vehicle segment, Tata Motors posted a total sales of 43,341 units, up from 15,181 units for May 2021. This results in year-over-year growth of 185 per cent. This figure includes ICE and EV cars, which sold 39,887 and 3,454 units, respectively.

Demand High For Tata Motors

Tata Motors also stood at the second rank in terms of overall sales volume for May 2022, behind Maruti Suzuki. In the last few months, we witnessed healthy competition between Hyundai and Tata Motors for the 2nd spot. This is encouraging both the carmakers to keep pushing themselves, which is apparent from the services and customer reception as well. Being the market leader in the electric passenger vehicle segment, Tata Motors is also working tirelessly to improve its customer ownership experience.
