Tata Motors is celebrating yet another sales milestone. This time, the Tiago hatchback has crossed the 5,00,000 sales milestone. Amongst these, the last 1,00,000 units were sold in just 15 months.
Tata Tiago in numbers
Apart from this milestone, Tata has also released some more information regarding the Tiago. The average Tiago buyer is 35 years old. In terms of sales, 60 percent comes from the urban areas while the balance 40 percent is from the rural areas.
Further women owners now account for 10 percent amongst total owners. This number is increasing day by day. Tiago is also a popular ride for first time car owners. Over 71 percent of Tiago buyers are first time owners who bought the car in FY2023.
Tata Tiago : More Details
Tata offers the Tiago hatch with three engine options. These include a petrol, diesel and an EV variant. In the petrol, the 1.3-litre engine develops 85 BHP and 113 Nm. The same engine on CNG produces 72 BHP and 95 Nm. Meanwhile, the EV comes with two battery options – a 19.2 kWh pack good for 250 km and a 24 kWh unit with a 315 km range. The medium range is rated at 60 BHP / 110 Nm, while the longe range has 74 BHP and 114 Nm.
Tata’s upcoming Nexon facelift
Tata has been going all out for the Nexon facelift. The SUV has been spotted multiple times. As we get closer to the launch, new details have been emerging. Tata is going to equip the new Nexon with a digital instrument cluster. This gets a blue theme with a circular display on the left side. The circular image could be for the speed along with the gear indicator. In terms of size, this unit appears to be larger than the 7-inch unit present in the Tata Safari.
The Nexon Facelift is said to get a new AC control unit. This new unit looks very different from the current Tata car’s AC controls. It is apparent that Nexon will be the first car to get this fresh control panel. It has a hybrid touch-sensitive interface. A new 2-spoke steering wheel is also offered on the Tata Nexon. This too was first seen on the Curvv concept.
On the outside, there is the new connected LED tail lamp and updated front end with revised headlamps as well.
