Tata Motors reveals H5X SUV Concept based on Land Rover chassis

Written by Parichay Malvankar

A 5-seater SUV probably never looked this good, and yes, its from Tata Motors. This is the H5X Concept which the brand revealed at the ongoing Indian Auto Expo 2018 and is set for a market debut later this year. This SUV will boast the new Impact Design 2.0 styling, and we have to say, things are in its favour.

This is the 150th year of the Tata group, and the brand will have a product offensive to appeal to a wider audience as well as change the brand perception.

The H5X concept is based on the new ‘Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced’ Architecture which is actually based on the Land Rover chassis. The H5X is going to be a 5-seater luxury SUV and is touted to redefine the segment and set new benchmarks.

Considering how close the production version of the Nexon looked compared to the concept, things are looking pretty positive for the H5X as well. This radical looking concept is unlike any other Tata SUV ever seen. A long squatting SUV, the concept highlighted features such as LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, sunroof, bold wheel arches, dual tone alloy wheels, massive front grille, skid plates, full digital instrument console, touchscreen infotainment system, and comfortable 5-seat layout.

Powering the Tata Motors H5X SUV is mostly going to be a 2.0L, Fiat-sourced, Multijet II diesel engine which will produce power in the range of 140 – 170 HP. Expect 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes along with 4×4 as well.

So, are you excited for the Tata H5X? Will this really be a luxury SUV from Tata Motors? Would you prefer this over other brands? Time will tell…
