Written by Nizam Shaikh

Tata is launching a new in-house Ceramic Coating service for the all-new Safari SUV. The industry-first service will be available at the price of INR 28,500, inclusive of GST and will be provided at all Tata Motors Authorized dealerships in India. Tata Motors boasts that the advanced treatment will revitalize the appearance of Tata Cars and the brand will also extend the service to not only other UVs but also Tata Passenger cars from other segments with prices varying, depending on the segment.

What is Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic Coating is an advanced hydrophilic formulation that is used in the Aerospace industry as well as by Hypercar manufacturers to protect the paint surface and rejuvenate the appearance of the vehicle. The Ceramic Coating mixes with the top layer of the paintwork and forms a hardened finish that protects the paint and shed debris and grime that comes in contact. Compared to conventional treatments the Ceramic Coating lasts much longer and protects the exterior paint from animal matter, solvents, acid rain, traffic pollution and more.

Ceramic Coating forms a crystal-like structure which also protects the paint from the harmful UV (Ultra-Violet) light spectrum naturally present in the Sun rays which are responsible for fading the paint. The coating also helps protect the vehicle from oxidation and corrosion. This helps in the longevity of the vehicle as the glass, paint, rims vinyl, plastic etc are all protected by the Ceramic Coating. Tata Motors has collaborated with 3M, Wuerth, Bardhal and Sikand Stanley BG and SK Car Care bringing the service to Tata Showrooms.
