Tata Motors has built 40 lakh passenger cars in India

Tata Motors is celebrating the landmark achievement of 40 lakh cars sold in the Indian market. The milestone has been achieved since the inception of the Passenger Vehicle department, which was nearly 3 decades ago. To express gratitude to the customer support, Tata Motors has launched the ‘We Love You 4 Million’ campaign to honour and support its customers through the journey. 

In the post economic liberalisation era, Tata Motors has produced legendary vehicles like the Indica, Sierra, Sumo, Safari and the Nano. These Tata vehicles not only a turning point for the brand they also broke new round across categories in the Indian automobile sector. The brand also boasts to have pioneered the lifestyle vehicle concept with the Tata Safari, which was one of the greatest aspirational vehicles. Tata Motors introduced the first ever MPV the Tata Sumo In honour of Mr. Sumant Moolgaonkar, who was the chief executive of Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO). 

Recently, Tata Motors launched the New Forever BS6 range consisting of the Tiago, Tigor, Nexon, Harrier and the Altroz. The brand is also known to have become the first Indian brand to have received a 5-star Global NCAP rating for its model, the Nexon. The brand was also the first car manufacturer to install a crash test facility in India. The brand is also the first Indian company to develop indigenous capabilities with terms of the design, development, validation and manufacturing stages as well as have a streamlined sales & service operations. Tata Motors has also employed in-house design and simulation studios to expedite prototyping and digital product development along with fully-equipped emission testing facilities. 

The brand has also become the country’s largest EV manufacturer with 67% market share aligning itself wit the EV Adoption policy in India. The company had achieved the 1 million production mark for passenger vehicles in 2005-06, 3 million in 2015 and the 4 million production milestone was achieved this month.
