Tata Motors has a Honda City rival in the making

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Codenamed as the X452, this could be the all-new sedan from Tata Motors to rival the likes of Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Hyundai Verna in the C2 sedan segment. Although no more details are available, this sedan could be a much better rival in this class compared to the now discontinued Indigo & Manza sedans.

Tata Motors has had sedan offerings before for the C2 segment, but poor quality and lackluster performance meant that they were never even a part of the consideration list. However, new Tata cars with turbocharged engines, latest features and arguably likeable looks are doing pretty well for the brand. The new X452 sedan silhouette as we can see in these images looks stunning. Much better than any Tata sedan ever. Also, the proportions look rather good. But, we have not seen the real deal yet, not even as a convincing concept here in India.

When launched, we can expect this Tata X452 sedan to be powered by 1.5L Revotron petrol and Revotorq diesel motors with engine driving modes such as Normal, Eco & Sport. AMT gearboxes, or may be a torque converter unit could also be on offer. Rest assured, it will come with features like projector headlamps, alloy wheels, ABS with EBD, airbags, Harman audio system, touchscreen infotainment, automatic climate control, etc.

The segment now has its pricing spread across INR 8 – 15 lakh. Would you be interested in spending that much money on a Tata sedan?
