Tata Motors crosses 5 million production milestone

Tata Motors hits yet another milestone. The carmaker has announced that it has produced five million passenger vehicles. The Indian carmaker started its story of passenger vehicles back in 1991. The first ever model from Tata Motors was the iconic Sierra. Then we saw the Estate and Sumo in 1994. After that, Tata Motors moved into the hatchback segment with the launch of the Indica. The hatchback soon became one of the most popular passenger vehicles.

Tata Motors achieved its 1 million production mark in 2004. The second million came up just six years later in 2010. Then in 2015, the carmaker crossed the three million mark in 2015, and finally, 4 million in 2020. The brand then achieved the last million within three years.

Tata Motors The Road Ahead

Tata Motors has made an emphatic comeback in the Indian market. With a new vision and idea, the carmaker is now one of the most popular car brands in the country. The new design language and vision are perfectly resonating with the Indian customers. With some of the blockbuster launches like Nexon and Altroz, Tata Motors is in the mind of every Indian.

Currently, it also boasts one of the biggest car and SUV line-ups in the country. The names include Tiago, Tigor, Altroz and SUVs like the Nexon, Harrier and Safari. The brand also has a wide range of EV portfolio. This includes electric iterations of the Nexon, Tiago and Tigor. The brand also has ambitious plans of launching the all-new Sierra and the Curvv SUV. We saw Tata showcasing both models, along with the Harrier EV, in close-to-production form at the Auto Expo 2023.

EV Segment The Differential For Tata Motors

The EV segment is what helping Tata Motors to add more sales. Nexon EV is currently the most-sold hatchback in the country. In addition to this, Tata has also added more EV options, thus attracting a wide range of audience.
