Tata Motors has received an order of 1,542 units of the Sumo Gold utility vehicle from multiple Police and law enforcement agencies in India.

For a decade old SUV to manage to still bag orders is quite commendable. Prices for the Sumo Gold BSIV start from Rs. 6.24 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Sumo Gold is powered by a 3.0L CR4 diesel engine producing 85 PS of power @ 3,000 RPM and 250 Nm of torque @ 1,000-2,000 RPM. Fuel economy is rated at 15 kmpl.

Tata Motors has supplied over 1,00,000 vehicles to the Indian military and Paramilitary forces in India since 1958.
