Tata might consider a new generation Sierra SUV

Written by Parichay Malvankar

The title itself sounds interesting doesn’t it? If you’re someone who likes SUVs, then in the defining days, you would have surely been familiar with the Tata Sierra. And Tata Motors has now gone ahead and said it that making a new generation Sierra is something that cannot be denied. The Sierra back in the day was ahead of its times for sure, but still has its fair share of fanboys and a new modern Sierra would surely spice things up. Where it would be positioned? Now that is tricky since you already have the Tata Nexon, Safari Storme, Hexa and the Harrier in place.

Based on the Telcoline pick-up chassis the old Sierra with a side way seating rear seats and long glass windows were unique in design. It was an SUV unlike any other in those days. It came with a 2.0L diesel engine with 4×4 capabilities as well. A lot of people now want to see the Sierra back.

Tata’s next car for the SUV space is the Harrier, which is looking very premium and very promising. The next launch post this would be the 45X hatchback.

But then, a bold with massive glass areas on a 3-door SUV sure does sound exciting, no?
