The Tata Kite hatchback has been spotted testing wearing heavy camouflage new Pune.

The replacement to the ageing Indica, the new Tata Kite is expected to be a step above in both design and technical department. The Kite will be based on the same Indica platform, but offer a more mature ride and handling package.

Seen in the spyshot:

  • Typical of Tata’s, a roundish design, but unlike the Indica
  • Pull type door handles
  • Tailgate mounted rear spoiler
  • Number plate housing on the tailgate
  • Window section looks smaller than the Indica
  • 14″ steel rims

The Kite is expected to be powered by a new 1.2L petrol motor, and a new 1.05L diesel motor. An AMT gearbox is also being rumoured to be available with the Kite.

The Tata Kite will be joined with a new Kite compact-sedan too, which will result in a lot of part sharing, and hence, competitive pricing. The Kite compact-sedan will replace the Indigo.
