Written by Parichay Malvankar

The Harrier SUV from Tata Motors is without any doubt the brands best attempt yet in making a passenger car. It comes loaded with features and also looks much better than competition. Niggles aside, the Tata Harrier still has plenty of interest among the potential car buyers and the brand has now announced a priority test drive service. Jointly with Orix, Tata Motors will allow for test drive of the Harrier SUV as and when the customer needs it, at their doorstep.

Customers who need a priority test drive of the Tata Harrier have to visit the official website and fill the lead generation form. After this, the customer can select from a date and time option, to suit their requirement. Customers will then receive a confirmation from the Tata Motors’ customer care team about the scheduled test drive. So by this, customers need not waste time in walking up to a dealership or calling one and scheduling a test drive.

Built on the OMEGARC platform which shares the Land Rover D8 DNA, the Tata Harrier is the most luxurious and well driving Tata SUV ever. So far, the brand has built iconic products like the Estate, Sierra, Safari and Sumo in the utility vehicle segment and the Harrier is the new shining star in the brand showrooms.

Powering the Tata Harrier is a 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine which has been sourced from the Jeep brand, also seen in the Compass SUV. The motor on the Harrier is yet to be upgraded to BSVI and currently produces 140 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The BSVI update is also said to come with an introduction of automatic gearbox.

The Tata Harrier is a 5-seater SUV, and the brand is gearing up to introduce the 7-seater model dubbed as the Buzzard.
