Tata Harrier SUV crosses 1 lakh production milestone

Tata Motors clinches yet another milestone. This time it is with the Tata Harrier. The SUV has now sold more than one lakh units. This has come up within just four years of its debut.

Tata Harrier And Its Story Till Date

In 2019, Tata brought in the Harrier SUV to the Indian market. The Tata Harrier was one of the first SUVs from the automaker, based on the OmegaArc platform. This has been derived from the D8 platform seen in Jaguar Land Rover SUVs like the Range Rover. In recent years, the SUV got a slew of revisions and special edition updates.  Of which, the Dark and Camo Editions pretty much stand out. The most recent revision brought in by Tata Motors is the SUV’s Red Dark Edition launched. Prices for the SUV start at INR 15 lakh and go up to INR 24.07 lakh (ex-showroom). Customers have the SUV in as many as 19 different trim levels

Tata Harrier Engine Options

Powering the Tata Harrier comes is a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine paired to either a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. The performance figures read as 168 BHP and 350Nm of torque. There are talks of Tata introducing a new 1.5L TGDi direct injection turbo petrol engine. But, noting is confirmed as of yet.

Tata Harrier Key  Features On Offer

One department, where the Harrier shines is its long features list. The SUV’s newest iteration, the Red Dark Edition, comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, JBL sound system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay through voice commands, a 7-inch TFT display and more.

Safety features too are much sought after in the new Tata Harrier SUV. It now gets an Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) as well. With this, we now get, forward and rear collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, door opening alerts, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane change alert, high beam assist, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition
