Not only because it is a impressive car based on an impressive concept from Tata Motors, but also because the SUV segment as always is showing consistent demand and it will be interesting to see Tata Motors launch their new flagship product in 2018-19.

As you can see from the spyshots, the Tata Harrier H5X SUV will get the following:

  • Engine start stop button
  • Steering mounted controls
  • Cruise control
  • Twin pot instrument console with MID
  • Floating touchscreen infotainment screen
  • Drive mode selector
  • Unique handbrake

The Harrier is expected to come with a new set of engines. Recent development revealed that the Tata Harrier H5X will use the diesel engine from the Jeep Compass, which is a 2.0L block and coupled to a 6-speed automatic gearbox of the Hyundai Creta. Of course, manual gearbox options and a petrol engine is also on the cards.

The Harrier will also get a unique front fascia. The LED DRLs will be mounted under the bonnet shut line, but the headlamp setup would be placed lower on the bumper, similar to what we saw on the concept. When launched, the Harrier is expected to rival the likes of Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and the likes.
