Tata Harrier facelift caught road testing

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

The Tata Harrier facelift has been spotted under camouflage yet again. Interestingly, we see this test mule using an ADAS radar module. Similar to a host of other options in the segment, it looks like Tata is also working on the ADAS tech. As we can see, the Harrier facelift will also get a revised front fascia. However, it will retain the split headlamp setup with slim LED daytime running lights. The spy shots show that this particular test vehicle had dummy headlights.

With the addition of ADAS, the Harrier will come with a host of added features. This includes blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, as well as front collision warning, and more. In terms of mechanicals, the Harrier will retain the FCA-sourced 2.0-litre diesel engine. The engine gets two gearbox options. The first is the 6-speed manual, and the second is the 6-speed automatic transmission. The output figure from this motor reads as 168 BHP and 350 Nm.

ADAS Getting Increasingly Popular

What we saw in MG Gloster back in 2019 with a host of ADAS tech is now getting mainstream. In the current market, we also see the popularity of ADAS in models like the XUV700. Then, in the recently launched updated Tucson, with ADAS. As per multiple reports, Hyundai’s upcoming Creta will also sport a host of ADAS tech. Thus, we are witnessing a trend wherein automakers are now prioritizing ADAS features.

Tata Motors Getting Increasingly Popular In Country

Tata Motors has been selling in good numbers in the recent few years. Blockbuster launches like the Safari and Nexon have revived the carmaker in the country. Now, with the updated Harrier, the carmaker will aim to attract more customers. Because of the growing demand for SUVs in India and the brand value of Harrier, expect the updated model to also sell in good numbers.
