Written by Rohit Tonapi

In 2021, Tata Motors announced that the brand plans to bring eight new electric vehicles to the Indian market by 2025. In April 2022 alone, Tata Motors showed two new EV concepts – CURVV Electric SUV and the Avinya EV. At the time of unveiling these two concepts, Tata also announced that the CURVV uses the company’s Gen-2 electric architecture, while the Avinya introduced the Gen-3 electric architecture.

The carmaker recently also introduced the Nexon EV Max with a larger battery, more features and longer range. Furthermore, on the occasion of World EV Day, Tata also announced that it will soon bring in the Tiago EV, which will likely be Tata’s most affordable EV and will slot below the Tigor EV. But that’s not the only new EV we will see from Tata in the near future.

Tata Harrier Electric SUV – What’s Happening?

We all knew Tata would launch an electric version of the Harrier SUV sometime in the future. However, according to the latest rumours, we could see the SUV ply on Indian roads sooner than later. Sources suggest that Tata could launch the Harrier EV by mid-2023. According to the source, the Harrier EV has recently completed the mule phase. Following this, the latest electric SUV from Tata will enter the Alpha testing phase.

Tata Punch EV Also In The Works

The source also suggests that the Harrier EV is not the only electric SUV that Tata is working on. Tata’s smallest SUV offering, the Punch, is also getting an EV version and is already in the Beta testing phase. It is said that the Tata Punch EV could make its debut sometime next year.

Tata Motors is already the market leader in the EV space with its Nexon EV and Tigor EV. However, with the new EV models coming soon, expect Tata Motors to grow its market share even further.
