Tata Motors has revealed an all-new SUV concept at the ongoing 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Dubbed as a micro-SUV, this concept will be a car which is slot below the Nexon compact-SUV. So obviously, this will be a sub-4 metre product for the Indian mass market. Also, this new H2X SUV concept will be based on the ALFA platform when launched, which is going to be shared with the Altroz premium hatchback slated for an Indian launch later in 2019.
The Tata H2X concept which is now revealed, is also known as Hornbill as per the rumour mill. This H2X Concept when launched will be a rival to the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Mahindra KUV 100 NXT. This should give you a size reference. However, expect typical Tata packaging, which will offer ample space inside the cabin.
Based on the ALFA platform, we expect the Tata H2X concept to be launched later in 2020. Also, considering the decreasing demand for diesel engines, the H2X Hornbill could be launched only with a petrol Revotron engine. However, an AMT automatic gearbox should surely be on the cards. The Tata H2X Hornbill should see prices between the Tiago and the upcoming Altroz. So for reference, INR 5 – 7 lakh.
