Tata Curvv Dark Edition – what to expect?

As reported online, the Curvv Dark Edition will be an identical iteration to the rest of the Dark Edition models like the Altroz, Harrier, and Nexon. It will be a blacked-out version of the SUV with a black interior theme to match with.

Meanwhile, the list of features and the engine options of the Dark Edition Curvv will remain unchanged. It is going to be a cosmetically different model than the standard variants.

Mind you, the Curvv SUV was one of the top car launches of 2024 in India. However, it has lost its charm with the debut of Citroen Basalt, which is available at a relatively lower price tag. The Curvv SUV is based on a design theme that looks familiar to the upcoming Harrier EV from the front. The key highlight is its unique sloping roof and the upright boot design.

The current Curvv ICE is sold with two engine options – a 1.2-litre GDi turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel; both sourced from the Nexon. It also has the option of manual and automatic gearboxes.

In terms of features, it is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, leather interiors, a digital console, a floating infotainment screen, voice controls, LED lights, and a level 2 ADAS safety suite. The Curvv rivals the Hyundai Creta, Citroen Basalt, and Maruti Grand Vitara in India.

Our verdict

The Tata Curvv coupe-SUV is a unique product that targets new-gen buyers looking for coolness factor and advanced features. It is also safe as it has achieved a 5-star crash test rating as well. However, with its engine options similar to the Nexon, the price positioning of it is not value-for-money per se.
