Tata Avinya EV showcased at Auto Expo 2023

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Back in April last year, Tata Motors showcased the Avinya Concept. And now at the Auto Expo 2023, it makes its public debut. The concept also marks the debut of Tata’s brand new ‘Gen 3’ platform. As we already know, the new ‘Pure EV Gen 3’ platform will see a host of multiple EV body styles. Of which the primary focus is on SUVs and crossovers. From this, the first production-spec version will hit the roads sometime in 2025.

New Design Language Showcased By Tata Motors

The concept also showcases Tata Motors’ new design language for its EV brand- Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEML). In terms of dimensions, the concept is very similar in size to the Harrier. But the ground clearance is not that high.

In terms of design, the new concept looks very striking and attractive. It is the perfect blend of SUV and MPV body styles. The new design also produces a much larger cabin. This comes courtesy of the long wheelbase and flat floor pan. This is possible only in EVs given the absence of a combustion engine.

What To Expect From Tata Avinya Concept?

The Tata Avinya concept measures 4300 mm in length. But this will vary slightly depending on the production-spec models that will be based on the same platform and design language. The production-spec model will most likely come with a bucketload of modern creature comforts and tech. We are also expecting Tata Motors to add autonomous features and an elaborated connectivity suit.

The concept also features butterfly doors but sadly we don’t expect to get this in the production model. But the showcased panoramic roof will likely make it to the production model we might see in 2025.

As of now, we do not have much technical details of the production-spec model. But we know that it will use the Pure EV Gen 3 technology. We are also expecting it to have a driving range of over 500 km, with a charge time of around 30 minutes using a DC fast charger.
