Tata Altroz turbo-petrol variants get affordable

Renowned Indian automotive giant Tata Motors has announced a price decrease for the i-Turbo variant of its Altroz premium hatchback. However, the brand has retained the price hike for the naturally-aspirated Altroz, which is up to INR 15,000 on select variants. Meanwhile, the diesel-powered Altroz also retains a price rise of up to INR 20,000 on select variants. Tata Motors launched the i-Turbo variant of the Altroz in India on 22nd January 2021, which comes with five variants.

2022 Tata Altroz i-Turbo: Price Revision and Colours 

Tata Motors offers the Altroz i-Turbo in 5 variants- XT, XZ, XZ+, and XZ+ Dark with newly revised pricing. The base XT now costs INR 8.09 lakh (ex-showroom) instead of the previous INR 8.07 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the XZ variant now costs INR 8.71 lakh (ex-showroom), which is an INR 3,000 reduction in price.

Meanwhile, the XZ+ variant now costs INR 9.09 lakh (ex-showroom) after receiving the highest price reduction of INR 8,000. Finally, the XZ+ Dark now costs INR 9.39 lakh (ex-showroom) after a price reduction of INR 3,000. The Altroz i-Turbo sports 5 colours- Harbour Blue, Arcade Grey, HighStreet Gold, Downtown Red, and Avenue White.

2022 Tata Altroz i-Turbo: Technical Specs & Features 

Powering the Altroz i-Turbo is a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged engine that develops 110 PS and 140 Nm. Tata Motors claim that the Altroz i-Turbo can accelerate from 0-100 kph in a brisk 11.9 seconds. In its top-spec XZ+ Dark variant, the Altroz iTurbo features a push-button start, cruise control, LED headlamps, and LED taillights. In terms of safety, the i-Turbo uses the brand’s signature ALFA architecture, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX mounts.

Along with Corner Stability Control (CSC) and a reversing parking camera, the premium hatchback also features voice alerts. Tata Motors has also equipped the Altroz i-Turbo with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and IRA Connected car features. Additionally, the premium hatchback gets 16-inch, dual-tone alloy wheels, fog lamps, rear AC vents, rain-sensing wipers, and dashboard-mounted ambient lighting. In India, the Altroz i-Turbo competes with the likes of the Hyundai i20 N-line and the Volkswagen Polo TSI.
