We are aware that Tata Motors introduced the Altroz CNG. This comes with a single-pane electric sunroof. Now, Tata Motors is offering the same feature on the rest of the Altroz line-up as well. Now, Altroz is the second hatchback in its segment after the Hyundai i20 to get a sunroof. With this new addition, we also witness a price hike with prices starting from INR 7.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the sunroof-equipped variants.

Sunroof For Tata Altroz

Tata Motors has added the sunroof on the Altroz from the mid-spec XM+ trim. Thus customers can get the sunroof in a total of 16 variants across petrol, turbo-petrol, diesel and CNG powertrains. Depending on the variant you choose, the sunroof-equipped one retails with a price tag of up to INR 45,000 over the regular ones. Even the Dark edition of the Altroz now benefits from a sunroof.

Altroz is now the most affordable model with a sunroof in the market currently. But, Hyundai’s upcoming Exter micro-SUV could also come with a single-pane sunroof in its higher trims. Meanwhile, Tata Motors has also added other key features to the Altroz CNG. We get to see a wireless charger, an air purifier, and leatherette upholstery for the seats. Now these features are available across all powertrain options. Although it is limited to the top-spec XZ+(S) and XZ+O(S) trims only.

Tata Altroz’s Range Of Powertrain Options

Mechanically, the Altroz remains unchanged from before and gets new updates here. The hatchback continues with the 86 HP, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, the 110 HP, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, and the 90 HP, 1.5-litre diesel engine. It gets a 5-speed manual gearbox which is standard across the range. Meanwhile,  the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine also gets an automatic gearbox option in the form of a 6-speed DCT.

The 77 HP bi-fuel CNG powertrain comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox and was the most recent addition to the range. Noteworthy to mention that the Altroz offers the widest range of powertrains in its segment. In fact, it is also the last-of-its-kind diesel hatchback left in the market.

Tata Altroz Rival Options

The Tata Altroz range prices fall in the INR 6.60 lakh to INR 10.74 Lakh bracket (ex-showroom, Delhi). Once launched, it will rival the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Toyota Glanza.
