Slated to debut at IAA Mobility in September, the upcoming EV is expected to be the IONIQ 2, a compact SUV that will sit below the Kona Electric in Hyundai’s lineup. The new model will be built on the E-GMP platform, which underpins all Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis EVs. It will be a twin to the Kia EV2, sharing architecture and drivetrain components2.
