Suzuki Motorcycle India has posted a total sales of 71,526 units for May 2022. The sales figure breaks down as 60,518 units for the domestic market and 11,008 units for exports. The two-wheeler maker mentioned that it has started with the deliveries of V-Strom SX 250 from this May. The motorcycle is now available across all Suzuki Premium dealerships in India. The automotive industry is currently going through some issues concerned with the supply chain and semiconductors. But, with the opening up of businesses and life coming back to normalcy, the demand is picking up pace.

Suzuki is looking to step away from MotoGP, thus opening up a spot on the grid for a new manufacturer or Independent Team to take. The reason provided by the manufacturer for this decision is the current economic situation. Suzuki mentioned that their main focus is to keep up with the competition and stay relevant in the market. Thus, Suzuki is shifting to focus more on developing new technologies for its products.
All these aspirations do indicate the company wants to keep the cost under check. Thus, according to the manufacturer’s future aspirations, spending millions of dollars on the sport is not a wise decision. With this decision, the current riders for Suzuki’s MotoGP will have no team for 2023. Some positive news is that four manufacturers are looking to take up the place in the 2023 season. Interested manufacturers include Aprilia, Honda, KTM and Yamaha.
Suzuki recently unveiled the GSX-S950 naked motorcycle for the overseas market, especially the European market. Based on the manufacturer’s flagship naked bike, GSX-S1000, the design language is similar. However, there are quite some differences in the mechanical department. The GSX-S950’s power output, with an A2-restrictor kit, is just 48 BHP against the GSX-S1000’s 152 BHP. However, the equipped engine is the same 999cc inline-four unit.
