Key highlights
- New GSX‑8T and GSX‑8TT blend retro lines with modern electronics and 776 cc parallel‑twin power
- Bikes weigh about 200 kg, pack ride‑by‑wire, three ride modes, and a bi‑directional quick‑shifter
- Targets neo‑retro middleweights like Yamaha XSR900 and Kawasaki Z650RS
Suzuki has pulled the wraps off two fresh neo‑retro twins—the GSX‑8T and GSX‑8TT. Both bikes borrow the 776 cc liquid‑cooled parallel twin already seen in the GSX‑8S and GSX‑8R. The engine makes a claimed 83 hp and 78 Nm, though Suzuki will release final figures closer to the European on‑sale date in late summer 2025 .
Design and tech
The GSX‑8T tugs at Titan‑era nostalgia with a matte‑black tail section, a raised eight‑ball emblem on the shroud, and Suzuki’s first bar‑end mirrors. The 8TT adds a bikini fairing, under‑cowl, and grey seat rails inspired by ’70s road racers. Both use a round LED headlamp with a flat‑bottom motif that nods to classic Suzukis. Electronics fall under Suzuki Intelligent Ride System and include three power modes, three‑level traction control, and a standard up‑down quick‑shifter. A lithium‑ion starter battery from ELIIY Power trims weight and claims reliable cold starts .

Chassis package
A steel frame mates to an aluminium swing‑arm and 17‑inch cast wheels. Seat heights sit at 815 mm on the T and 810 mm on the TT. Wet weights are 201 kg and 203 kg respectively. Suzuki quotes 23.8 km l WMTC fuel economy from the 16.5‑litre tank, good for roughly 390 km between fills.
Rival watch
Yamaha’s XSR900 brings an 890 cc three‑cylinder with 117 hp and a 432 lb wet weight, though its $11,499 US price undercuts many European roadsters. Kawasaki’s retro‑styled Z650RS weighs 174 kg dry and makes 67 hp from a 649 cc twin, but lacks ride modes or a quick‑shifter. Triumph’s Speed Twin 900 offers more torque but tips the scales near 216 kg and costs more than the outgoing SV650X. Suzuki aims to slide between these rivals on spec and pricing while offering the most complete electronics suite in the middleweight retro field.
