Suzuki Gixxer off to a good start

The Suzuki Gixxer is off to a good start in the sales department almost instantly after its market debut.

The Gixxer is powered by a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 154.9cc petrol engine which produces 14.8 PS of power and 14 Nm of torque. Engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and the bike is quite a performer compared to the other products in the category.

In the month of October ’14, Suzuki has managed to sell 4,588 units of the Gixxer which is higher than quite a few competitors such as Honda CB Trigger, Hero MotoCorp Hunk etc. The previous 150cc offering from Suzuki, the GS150R has managed to sell only 74 units and is on its way to be discontinued from the market.

Hero MotoCorp and Honda will launch new products in the 150cc-class of motorcycles in a couple of months. While Hero MotoCorps product is almost finalised, the Xtreme Sports; there is a lot more to be known about what Honda has to offer.

As of now, the Bajaj Pulsar rules the 150cc segment with the Yamaha FZ at the #2 spot.
