Sub-4 metre Jeep SUV confirmed for India

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Sub-4 metre compact-SUV segment has been growing at a consistent rate for a long time in the Indian market now. Jeep, the iconic SUV brand is riding high on the success of the Compass and have now confirmed that they will soon introduce a compact-SUV for India. While we all know that there is Hyundai Creta rival in the Jeep Renegade which is scheduled for launch sometime in 2018-19, the compact-SUV could be seen on the streets by 2020.

Jeep has revealed that the new sub-4 metre compact SUV will share underpinnings with the Fiat Panda 4×4. The brand wants typical Jeep characteristics in the new compact-SUV, and it would be a capable car unlike the posers from competition. It will also have a traditional SUV design, and not a crossover-like body style.

The smallest Jeep for India, this car will be priced under INR 10 lakh for the base variant, and should spice things up. Also, this will allow Jeep to grow at a much faster rate with more market penetration. Jeep is also working on a mid-size 3-row SUV for India, but that is not happening very soon.
