Students of Amity University in Manesar have developed a new solar-powered car.

11 students completed this project over a period of 20 months and created this single seater solar vehicle. The car also has a detachable hood for easy maintenance. This car can be driven for 300 – 400 km on its top speed of 50 kmph on a single charge. It has 4 solar panels with a current of 7 amperes and electric potential of 53 volts each. A separate mechanical team worked on the chassis of the car.

Looking at how the Mahindra-Reva E2O has evolved over the years, the students of Amity University are hoping some kind of financial and technological backing from automotive companies to make this dream project of theirs road legal.

The University is also willing to showcase this solar-powered vehicle at the next Auto Expo to be held in India, which is in 2016.
